HIT N MOVE recognized this gap and a team was assembled to redesign the focusing mitt as the perfect tool for any boxing coach. With conventional mitts on the market, trainers are unable to create precise angles for body punches; they had to twist their hands to place the palm portion of a conventional mitt under the arm, or expose the back of the hand to body punches. The founder of HIT N MOVE, who boxed in his spare time, realized this anatomical danger that trainers were exposed to every day. He did some research with his fellow orthopedic surgeons and found that many trainers were seeing doctors for elbow and wrist pain due to holding the lap. The founder began to draw the ultimate mitt print with these concerns in mind. While running, he saw a turtle trying to cross the road. As he held the turtle to move it out of danger, he was surprised at how the turtle looked like the lapa he was trying to draw. He immediately labeled the store as "turtle" and issued an executive order to begin testing the product. This process took about 14 months with many prototypes. In the end, Hit N Move achieved perfection with the turtle. Coaches can now safely and easily create body hitting drills while getting a quick flow with their fighters. World-renowned trainer Calvin Ford, who is the head trainer for Gervonta Davis, was a big fan of turtle laps and immediately adapted HIT N MOVE products, including boxing gloves and laps, to his camp.
