Hand wraps are bandages made of cloth that are wrapped around the wrist. The standard width is 5 cm and the length varies from 2 m to 5 m. The choice of length depends on the method of wrapping and the size of the hands and gloves. Hand wraps are made of elastic or non-elastic fabrics: cotton, synthetic, gel, etc.

Boxing hand wraps have several functions at once:

1. by using bandages the athlete protects himself from wrist, finger, fist injuries, possible bruises and sprains.
2. it promotes proper training of punches
3. minimises the load on the joints
4. increases training efficiency by strengthening the fingers and wrists
